Who we are
The Developer Desk Ltd, trading as GainFound, is the controller of the personal information described in this notice. Our registration with the Information Commissioner’s Office is number [ICO REGISTRATION NUMBER].
What we collect
- When you contact us: your name, business name, work email, phone number if you give it, and what you tell us about your business.
- When we carry out a review: the contact details of the people we work with, and the records your business shares with us.
The records your business shares for a review (such as contracts, job records, timesheets and invoices) may contain personal information about your staff, customers or suppliers. For that information your business is the controller and we act as its processor, only on your instructions and only to carry out the review. Our engagement letter sets out the processing terms.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange a call: our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
- To carry out a review you have asked for: performing our contract with your business.
- To keep accounting records: our legal obligation.
- To send occasional updates about GainFound: only if you ticked the box asking for them. You can withdraw this consent at any time.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information or your business’s records. We use these providers, each only for the service they provide:
- Formspree: receives the contact form on this website and passes it to our inbox.
- Google (Workspace): our email and secure file storage.
- Cloudflare: hosts and protects this website.
- Our accounting and banking providers: to send invoices and take payment.
Some of these providers are based in, or may access data from, the United States. Where that happens, transfers are covered by the UK–US data bridge or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries: up to two years after our last contact, unless you become a client.
- Records shared for a review: deleted at the end of the review, unless your business asks us in writing to keep them for ongoing monthly reviews.
- Invoices and engagement records: six years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as tax law requires.
- Update emails: until you ask us to stop.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive a copy in a portable form. Email hello@gainfound.co.uk. For information in records your employer shared with us, we will pass your request to them and help them answer it.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and storage
This website doesn’t set tracking or advertising cookies. The interactive demo saves your example choices in your own browser only; nothing is sent to us. The website loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google when you visit.
